When your first character reaches level two a secondary ability becomes available for all characters that you have,  the second ability must follow the rules in the abilities section. The Moderators will help you balance said abilities, but if it looks too overpowering we reserve the right to ask you to decrease the strength of the ability to be appropriate. Though this should only occur in the case of horrific "min-maxing".

Secondary abilities are often the same type as the primary ability [[Genetic, supernatural, experimental etc.]] , but not always. They tend to sync well together, but it's not unknown for two power sets to clash. In the world of SIGMA, two abilities is a very rare character trait, considering that a very small portion of the population has them.

However, abilities are becoming increasingly common in the population of SIGMA. As of this moment it has increased to (1 in 150) births, however not all of these abilities are immediately known or even noticeable and quite benign.

The sole exception to the rule is the town of Chalk Bluffs, which was recently subject to a mixed Sigma, I22 and Majestic raid on a scientific facility. Chalk bluffs has had a 100% birth rate for individuals with abilities, often presenting with dual abilities. Researched has revealed the Forced Evolutionary Zone, or F. E. Z. an area surrounding the town that alters development of individuals gestating within the womb.

Many individuals who were once denizens of the town have moved on to other areas, and have taken their Forced Evolutionary genetics with them. This has been occurring for at least three generations prior to discovery.

The world's population is going to shift.

▶ All previous monthly prompts are now open again, however they can only be completed once per account meaning that if one of your characters has done it then the others may not.

▶ I don't like my OC and I want to switch them out, but don't want to lose their rank and EXP.

You can now transfer the rank and EXP to a new PC, however once that is done you cannot transfer the EXP and ranks back to the first character as they will drop into NPC with those same stats. Special exceptions exist, however you must inquire with the moderators.

▶ If my first OC is at least level 2 and I switch their EXP with a new character, then is that character allowed to have dual abilities in character creation or is roleplaying its development required?

On character creation is fine.

▶ I want to have a double agent, is this allowed?

At the moment no, as we would have to figure how that would get into the plot.

There has been some confusion concerning what can and can't be used as a uniform and who can and can't have informal uniforms that aren't combat ready among multiple people. We hope this announcement clears things up.

If your character is a:

▶ INF : Assassin and combat types.
▶ SOL : Pretty much every soldier melee or gunner.
▶ SUP : Or example helicopter pilot or tank driver and later into the story arc Mecha pilots.
▶ MED: For the field medic subtype (EMT/Paramedic specializations).

Then they require a military oriented uniform or urban combat oriented uniform.

Combat uniforms should be
▶ Subdued in colour and not neon (neon hair incl, but hair streaks are okay) Also Re: Eye colours are whatever you like.
▶ Should be functional, and protective and have close toed shoes.
▶ Should be at least urban combat in aesthetic if not an official type of uniform: Think Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil. Many of this outfits are not formally military, but are functional for combat.

Classes that are allowed non military outfits:

▶INF: Hacker subtype and espionage subtype - Hackers do not really leave the base much. Espionage change outfits a lot and blend into crowds. They aren't required to participate in combat.
▶ MED: Doctors and nurses are expected to wear clothing that is suitable for the hospital environment, it can be casual work wear. Often a lab coat will be required, and will give off that medical worker impression.
▶TEC: If you TEC is not combat oriented in general, so they need clothing that is appropriate for working with machinery - but it is allowed to be casual work wear.

▶ Everyone is required to wear close toed shoes.

However, if a character shows in mission and has no example of a combat uniform on their application it is assumed that they will be wearing one of the generic uniforms in the place of their uniforms if one isn't specified. Like in the image below:

A mother makes a blog post.

March 13th, 2017. 11:00 am.

I have been prescribed Valium, but it doesn't stop the awful feeling that I get when I walk from my home to the bus stop... Sometimes I see her, my missing child. I feel like the world flips upside down, and I can see her in the ground. I know she's alive.

Darlin, I know you spend a lot of time waiting for her to come home. But maybe it's time to come and spend some time with us at the church. Pastor Rick is here for you.

▶ March 13th, 2017. 11:05 am - Ricky West
  I believe you.
I am in the woods every day, I'm serious when I say I see things in the woods.
I know what you're talking about. It's near that RnD facility from the eighties.

An announcement on the local radio.

This is your local police chief, Trent Lawson. Please stay indoors between 11 pm and 5 am. Do not travel alone, if you see something report it. We are here to help you. We are here to help you.

Trent finishes his broad cast, he takes off his cap and fans himself with it. There’s a moment where the radio host glance at him, before he leans forward on the table across from him.

“So what’s going on?” He asks him.

“I’m afraid I don’t have much more to tell you than what’s in the papers,” he replies, opening a box of cigarettes before lighting them and taking a puff.

“Stacy has gone off the deep end and she’s been sitting in front of the typewriter. She’s telling everyone that her kid has been talking to her through it.”

He mumbles it from behind the cigarette, “It’s been a month.”

The radio host, a mousey looking man, glances at him and looks him in the eyes.

“She’s dead isn’t she?”

“I can’t definitively say.” Trent replies, “But you can guarantee that I’m sticking my pistol up the ass of the person responsible.”

The radio host looks a little taken aback, but he settles down about it. Rarely is Trent invested in too much, it didn’t make him a bad cop, he just didn’t get emotionally invested in the lives of others very much. The radio host, Bradley, guessed it was because Trent had a soft spot for the kids. This town was small, it hadn’t changed an awful lot since the eighties, it was barely chugging around and the birth rates in the area were decreasing. It was mostly full of old retired army folk, people who were once working in the now decrepit facility over thirty years ago.

The teenagers in this town, you could count each one off with the fingers on yours hands. That’s how few there were. It was the same for children. He knew each person in the area personally. Since he moved here, since he took the job he noticed that there was something weird with a lot of the kids. He’d kept his mouth shut; he wasn’t stupid enough to bring it to the attention of the authorities.

He knew about men in black suits.

Trent couldn’t handle a disappearance like this in a town of declining birth rates. The town was going to die.
Trent excused himself and left the station, it was cold outside when he walked into the parking lot. He pulled out a manila folder from his coat; he’d been going over the patterns of the disappearances. He felt like he was making progress… Everything was leading back to....

Trent could feel his insides flip; it felt like the world was spinning and out of nowhere the atmosphere started to suffocate him. He dropped the manila folder, and it fell on the ground. He glanced down, he could see a face. It was like he was peering through a peeping hole, it was foggy, and the texture of it was almost membranous.

Stacy’s little girl.

The blog was true?

He was only distracted by the sound of footsteps, the crunching gravel catching his attention. He turned around, standing up as he looked at the man.

“You’ll kill us all, Trent Lawson.” The man said.

“Why don’t you hand over the investigation, and the folder?” He asked.

“Leave it to us, we’re here to help. We’ll find the lost ones too.”

Trent bent over and picked up the folder, his eyes narrowed as he glanced at it.

“No.” He responded, tersely.

The man looked confused.

“Why not?” he replied, his tone was calm and soft. Something about it was very reassuring; to a normal person it would be so easy to believe this man was here to help.

It didn’t work very well on Trent, but Trent wasn’t very normal anyway too. He was like those kids after all. He had immunity, but right now he wished that he could turn it off. He could see it without the filter of the cigarette man persona.

“It’s because you should leave it to humans, whatever you are.”

Trent glanced down at the ground, it was back to normal. The man with the cigar looked calm still; he didn’t seem to react to Trent’s refusal. He even let him get into his car, and drive away without a fuss. As soon as Trent was out of view he hit the accelerator, pressing the siren so that the road would clear up for him as he sped back to the police station. He couldn't get away from that freak too soon.

He was sweating, and his body shook and rattled as a giggle escaped his lips. He didn’t think he could afford to come into contact with whatever that was again. He would be bouncing off the walls in some hospital, he knew.

He wondered if a gun would even do anything to something like that?

March Prompts incoming.
